The Paddocks, London

The paddocks is a 10,000sqft superhome located in the affluent suburb of Northwood.

It has been an exciting and modern residential project working alongside Germanys leading house builder. Along with the Architect, home builder and client, we were able to design and develop a home which illustrates the future in secure and convenient living. This highlighted how KNX technology is at the centre of this outstanding and functional home.

The family were certain at the end of the initial briefing that GES Digital Ltd were to install KNX throughout their property and as such we were able to showcase the designs which we knew would suit their living style. KNX met these needs and throughout the design and subsequent installation the client’s expectations were fully met.

GES Digital LTD have been working with KNX since 2001 and have a 15 year heritage with the KNX standard. The only worldwide standard for home and building control.

Realised functions within the KNX system are as follows.

Lighting both dimming and switching using a variety of solutions from standard leading edge dimmers to advanced self-load checking dimmers for high quality German made LED lights. 1-10 volt control of various LED circuits where emitter type dictates this approach are also integrated along with DALI where required, dictated by product selection and load type.

Heating control for all underfloor heating zones and boost requests for Hot water are all fully controlled by the KNX system.

Ventilation for the passiv haus style is also fully controlled by the KNX system for both general operation (which is essential in home like this) and also for boost operations when cooking, showering or bathing. There is also a check procedure with alerting to ensure continuous operation.

Interfacing to the SAVANT AV system using an IP gateway provides even more convenience.

Monitoring of the Intruder alarm and CCTV is also carried out by the KNX system.

Full visualisation is also provided via the owner’s multitude of both Apple and Android products. (including existing Blackberry devices)

Two way interaction with security systems means simple arming and disarming as well as full visual response to any alerts.

Monitoring of Solar PV system along with reporting of use for easy appraisal of effectiveness.
