Electrical works for a new 5-bedroom German Eco house.

When we are engaged by the house builder to carry out the installations, the first process is meeting with the homeowner to start to understand their requirements and how best to meet these.

The clients were happy to accept some advice as to how to best provision Security and Wi-Fi, along with light fittings specification and additional items they required. They had some quite specific requirements for a few rooms in terms of the decorative lighting and we worked with them to procure these from a Chelsea lighting dealer representing an Italian manufacturer. We gave advice on number and location of all outlets, to ensure flexibility and ease of use for now and the future.

Preparing for the right control, albeit done the traditionally was simple to do. The European approach to outlets in a building allows the choice of a vast array of installation products covering lighting, blinds, heating, power, data, TV outlets, which can then all be seamlessly integrated in any combination, to give the owner simple and reliable control of every aspect of their home. And it all matches. No odd-looking thermostats, or mismatched switches or sockets. It all blends seamlessly into the background and allows the furniture and colours to speak for themselves.

Furthermore, if the owner decides to re-model a room and use coloured outlets, these can be changed simply and without disruption as preference demands.

There are a few nice add ons at this home too.

An electronic back door lock, which allows keyless entry into the home using a code or a tag. The door will pop open and allow you to walk in with your shopping. And the door remains secure in a power cut and has a keyed over-ride too.

A generator input with changeover control. If the owner has a sustained power cut, they can turn a switch, plug in a generator, and run the whole house (if the generator is large enough).

High output alarm system. The noise generated by the alarm when activated would disturb even the most committed of intruders. Unbearable noise means they leave quickly.

Enterprise Wi-Fi with remote management provided by us free for the 1^st year.

CCTV system with remote administration provided by us free for the 1^st year.
